Dubai and the wider United Arab Emirates (UAE) experienced intense rainfall on Saturday, causing localized flooding and disruptions to flights at Dubai International Airport.
The Onpassive Metro station in Dubai was inundated with water from outside, causing significant flooding. The heavy rains also impacted the UAE's transportation network, with several roads closed and traffic delayed.
According to Dubai Airports, at least 17 flights were canceled due to the weather conditions. Warnings remain in effect as the UAE braces for continued rainfall and thunderstorms.
The severe weather conditions are part of a larger weather system that is expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds to the UAE over the weekend.
